Water ResistanceĪlthough water resistant watches are warranted, steps should be taken to avoid damage that results from mishandling. Michael Hill watches' water resistance is indicated at the back of the watch face. The water resistance indicated (either in METRES or ATM) refers to a dry atmospheric pressure test and is not the depth below sea level that the watch has been designed for. Magnetic fields may temporarily affect the accuracy of the watch. ![]() While no problems should occur during normal use around household appliances, we recommend that your watch be kept away from transformers, arc welders, magnetic blankets or other strongly magnetising items. The watch may be worn while playing sport, however severe shocks such as dropping the watch onto a hard surface may cause permanent damage. Extremes of temperature may damage the battery or movement. TemperatureĪvoid exposing the watch to prolonged direct sunlight or leaving it in extremely hot or cold places for extended periods of time. For heavy soil, warm soapy water may be used providing the watch is water resistant and is dried properly following the cleaning process. ![]() To extend the life of your watch it is recommended to regularly remove sweat, dust and dirt from the case, bracelet or strap with a soft dry cloth.
